article:How to use yoomoot

written by cojadate rocky | Last revised on 2010 May 19

1. Participate in discussions: More productive discussions is what yoomoot is all about. On standard web forums, posts in big discussions get lost in an enormous mess of text, the same topics endlessly repeat themselves and hardly anyone bothers to read what's already written. yoomoot solves all these problems. To see the difference yoomoot makes, compare this standard discussion with its yoomoot equivalent (click "see discussion overview" for the best view).

2. Add categories to your favorites: No-one's interested in everything. Use categories to focus on what matters to you. Adding a category to your favorites makes it easy to check what's new in it. Favorite categories can be very specific, e.g. greece + history + philosophy or twitter + economics.

3. Use as a blog: Because of yoomoot's nested Q & A structure, every contribution you make to a conversation can additionally be read as a self-sufficient article. All your writing is shown together on your profile page. It amounts to a whole new approach to blogging, one which is much more social and collaborative than the normal model. To get started, simply go to moots and then 'create a moot'.
