Does Google Wave threaten Twitter?

Google Wave is based on restriction. A beautiful restriction to 140 characters which makes it possible to share thoughts with huge numbers of people. Google Wave is about flexibility and depth. They're two completely different things. I really don't get why some people think Wave is a Twitter-killer.
