Banks welcome war
War is always associated with the massive increase of government spenditures, so government has to go to the bank and borrow some money. Bank gets a good client who is ready to borrow a lot and to pay high interest rate.

War stimulates technical progress, so we can witness quality changes in some industries after the war.
Of course that's not to say that technological progress justifies war.
