Does it matter that Yoomoot doesn't integrate instant messaging like Google Wave does?

It's a good thing that Yoomoot doesn't have instant messaging - it undermines organized collaboration

instant messaging is bad for collaboration for three reasons

1. It's better to finish fully making your point (your question or answer) before being interrupted by someone else. It means the other person will read your whole point, before making assumptions and interrupting you.

2. It's a totally disorganised, wasteful way of making arguments and sharing knowledge, because nothing is integrated with existing records. That doesn't matter in non-yoomoot ways of collaborating, where everything is disorganized anyway and information is lost all the time, but in Yoomoot, where everything is organized and nothing is wasted, such disorganization would be a damn shame.

3. people can respond to you when it's convenient for them, instead of having their work and thoughts interrupted.
