This is the answer to On Yoomoot, couldn't we still ask our question, instead of editing a similar answer?
I'm optimistic the existing system works: if an edit disrupts the original answer the edit can be easily undone
The answer's history interface shows exactly how the answer has been edited, so any disruptive edits can easily be undone or satisfactorily resolved.
