The Loan arranger: Amazon allows the possibility of lending an ebook.

This one is from the Economist and it is about Amazons decision to allow ebooks to be loaned albeit with strict conditions.  Does this positive announcement only serve to draw attention to the fact that you never really own an ebook. In essence you have not got complete sovereignty of action with your ebook.  However does this matter?  

Why are we tied to the concept of ownership? after all do you ever really own a house when you have a 40 year mortgage or a lease.
