The Zeitgeist Movement is the activist arm of The Venus Project.

The world's economic system creates deprivation and devastation

• Industry deliberately keeps goods and resources scarce in order to maintain their value.
• Central banks deliberately keep currency scarce in order force "humans to battle each other on a daily basis".
• Industry creates 'inferior products that break down quickly' in order to stimulate further consumption.
• Industry welcomes war, because it yields economic benefits.
• "The line between organized crime and traditional business is really nonexistent."

• The economic system inevitably places monetary gain before social concern and social stratification before equality.
• "The Human Value System is largely a product of the environment. The influence of the Monetary System... has created a culture of vain, selfish, aggressive and insecure people. Vanity, Ego, Jealousy and Greed are all byproducts of the system"

• The monetary system constitutes a form of slavery because 'it is virtually impossible for the collective public to ever get out of debt'.
• 'The term ‘Economic Growth’ is actually nonsense,for all expansive growth is temporary and must be counter balanced by contraction."

The Venus Project will redesign society for the better

• There is evidence is that if the earth's resources are managed correctly, we can have abundance for all.
• People's values are mostly out of date. The Venus Project will 'redesign society' – the Resource-Based Economy.
• 'Human behavior is a product of the environment' By correcting the environment, the Resource-Based Economy will radically alter social behavior for the better.
• Metaphysical pontification is useless. We should should concentrate on solving the world's problems in the here and now. By using science, we can create a world where age-old ideals of equality can become a reality
• Today's cities intrinsically outdated. The redesigned society will build entirely new, efficient cities.
• "Society is a technological invention, with its component variables really no different than the component variables of an airplane". In the redesigned society, 'government' will be purely technical. Decisions will be arrived at by The Scientific Method using computers and databases. Decisions will be implemented by people selected by The Central Database.
