The usual format of the white lie is:
A) Yes, the buildings collapsed from failed structure.
B) Steel gets weak when it gets hot, and fire can make it so.
C) The buildings may have just lost structural strength and collapsed.
What is rarely mentioned is the anecdotal evidence, and video evidence widely available, that shows:
A) The fires were billowing thick smoke, indicating incomplete combustion, which indicates lower buring temperatures, rather than higher.
B) Ground Zero workers reported finding a "foundry" under the vast debris pile, some even reported "pools of molten steel". Steel loses strength when too hot, but not even the most brazen denier would claim that an office fire could melt steel.
C) The "foundry" was found weeks later.
D) Photographic evidence is available that shows I-Beams sheered off at angles, with solidified residue at the sheer points, that visually looks like it was once molten, and has "dripped".
E) Radio transmission records of firefighters in the towers on the day, during the event, moments prior to the collapse, reveal that they believed the fires to be controllable. This adds further weight to the theory that the fires were in fact not intense, and that therefore something else must be responsible for the collapse.
F) The pre-collapse damage to the lobby is not explained by any collapse theory, as it happened almost instantaneously (with the aircraft strike), and the theory of elevators exploding due to expanding combusting jet fuel is particularly flimsy. A conspiratorial theory that suggests pre-planned structural collapse, fits tidily with a lobby level pre-planned explosive scenario.
G) Building Seven collapsed along with the Twin Towers. These collapses cannot be called part of the same event, and cannot be truly called different events either. Their similarities however, suggest a program rather than chaos. Their collapses were related to one extent or another, and their similarities indicate a program of events moreso than they indicate a chain reaction or chaos.
H) The real questions to ask are historical and political ones. Who benefited? What happened to the USS Liberty? What happened to the USS Cole? What can we learn from Operation Mongoose, Operation Mockingbird, Operation Gladio, Operation Mass Appeal, Operation Amalgam Virgo, and Operation Northwoods and Operation Hades?
What can we infer from the notion that the above operations are just the ones we know about?
I) Where is Osama Bin Laden?
J) Who killed John O'Neill?
K) Why Afghanistan? Most of the 9/11 hijackers were Saudi?! Bin Laden was a Saudi! Why invade a country with soldiers if your aim is to punish a network numbering hundreds, not thousands?
J) Why Iraq?
L) Why was the US Patriot Act announced as a reaction to the events of 9/11, and yet actually in preperation for months prior? Why does it evicerate the civil liberties US citizens, whose freedoms are supposed to be the very things threatened by Al-Quaeda? Back in Vietnam the motto was to win hearts and minds by bringing freedom, rather than restricting it! Are we just being told what we need to hear in order to fool us?
M) How on earth did Hani Hanjour hit the pentagon with Flight 77 and leave the lawn untouched?

For a while I was movedby the evidence that the Zeitgeist movie and others have put forward.however, once I examined the evidence on the other side (officialstory) more closely, and the various people who are debunking thedebunkers with real evidence, I now more or less believe the officialstory of 9/11, with some exceptions... (I still find it amazing thatthe 'terrorists' were taking flight training in the U.S.)
That said, I think it's a huge mistake to simply label people who don'tbelieve the official version as crazy or nutters. there are literallyHUNDREDS of millions of people worldwide who think 9/11 was a setup. Ihave travelled extensively overseas, I KNOW this... you can't justwrite off what 15% - 25% of the WORLD believes happened..
And honestly, it's easy to see why people believe that. it's EASY Tosee how people have gotten to that point where they don't trust theAmerican Government... if you are taking an honest reading of history, and have done your homework, you can make an extensive list of sins andattrocities committed by the American government.. from Viet Nam,Cambodia, and Laos, to the CIA's support of vicious oppressive massmurderers like Pinochet.
I was not particularly moved by the Zeitgeist movie or any of the mass of evidence people had accumulated, though it all helped soften my skepticism. It was not until my second viewing of the presentation by Richard Gage, who started http://www.ae911truth.org, that it finally sunk in, that controlled demolition is the only scientifically proven explanation for the "collapse" of all three WTC towers, and that the official story must therefore be a cover up of the real crime.
Then, I could revisit the other material to see how it all fits together much more coherently, all the explosions that people heard and saw, the total lack of response by the military to defend us from this self-inflicted attack, the destruction of evidence at the crime scene of ground zero, the immediate blame of Osama bin Laden with no evidence, the call to enter into a premeditated war, the inadequacy of the media to investigate what really happened, the foot dragging to start the 9/11 Commission and the inept investigation and reporting that it did, etc, etc, etc, etc, etc,...
Waking up about the reality of how thoroughly and deeply corrupt our institutions are that we had assumed we could trust is a bit scary, and most people resist even in the face of facts. I have heard several people say "Even if it is true, I don't believe it". People outside the US are more likely to distrust the US. It is much more difficult for anyone to distrust themselves. But the truth is not about how many people believe one way or another so much as about the inescapable facts of what could not have happened and what must have happened. There is much that we don't yet know about, but we do know that the US government had to be involved to some degree. At the very least, they let it happen on purpose.
The science behind the destruction of the buildings is clear. There were no missiles. There were no demolition charges. The airliners, and the resulting fire, destroyed the towers.
The towers were designed to survive the impact of an airliner. And in fact they did. Where the design failed was in resisting the fire that followed the impacts. The contents of a modern office are mostly flamable. In fact, much of it is fuel. Plastics are made from oil. And can have as much as 3 times the fuel content per pound as coal. And these days plastics are everywhere. Next time you are in an office, look at everything and note what they are made of. Plastic, paper, wood. So you had a very intense fire igniting pretty much every flamable object on several floors of the towers. All the glass was blown out, so the wind could whip through cleanly to feed the flames. And the fire suppression design of the towers failed because it was not sufficiently protected.
What that adds up to is a blast furnace. You know how a blacksmith heats a horseshoe in order to make it malable. Heat steel enough and it loses its strength. It becomes malable and bendable.
This is what happened. The phisical structure of the towers that survived the impacts were critically weakened by the resulting fire. Until they simply were no longer stong enough to hold the vast weight of the towers up. As each floor collapsed down on top of the ones below it, that vast weight shattered the concrete and broke the steel as it hit. And it did that floor after floor all the way to the ground.
As to the fact that many people beleive that the government, did it: So what? Many people have beleived false things before. This is no different. It isn't at all relevent to what happened.
