What if the debate was localized and mirrored current issues being discussed by politicians/"producers"/people?

By mirrored, i mean the questions/topics on the site should try to mimic issues/decisions that are currently being pondered upon by the people in power, the mainstream media et al., and the general public as a whole.

By localized I mean the questions should be measured on a spectrum of local vs international.
Is this is a problem specific to a certain area(if so which?) or is it common across the board for most nations(if so why isn't it solved yet?).

That can be done informally, but there's room for improvement

That's a good idea and I'd like to see that happening. At the moment it's possible to the extent that people make it happen on Yoomoot. People can ask about whatever they want, so they can ask about the issues being discussed by politicians and the media. People can categorizes moots as 'uk' or 'usa' or 'vermont' etc, so they can signal that a debate is specific to a particular area. People from, say, Vermont can add politics+vermont as a favourite category, so they can focus purely on local issues and ignore the rest of the site.

I very much see this as part of Yoomoot's long-term evolution though. It's way too small to make the most of these ideas for now, or to take them further.
