What is the best thing to do when you first log-in to Yoomoot in order to experience its advantage?

Try out the big discussions

yoomoot's real advantage is in navigating big, humungous discussions with many participants. Unfortunately we don't have many of them yet because there are so few users (we'll be starting a push for more beta testers soon though).

However as a way of showing Yoomoot's advantages I paraphrased this standard discussion and created a yoomoot equivalent (click "open discussion browser" for the best view). By comparing the two you can see how much easier it is to get an overview of and browse through than the original discussion. That's kind of an unnatural simulation of course but it gets the Yoomoot advantage across.

In the meantime, I hope that new users will consider treating their Yoomoot profile page as a blog, either by writing fresh articles, questions and answers or by linking to their existing work elsewhere on the Web (e.g. twitter, wordpress) via Yoomoot bookmarks.

Participate, participate, participate

Any new forum can be both intriguing and interesting, but (rather than merely observation) participation is really the only way to get the most out of Yoomoot. I've learned more by making mistakes and correcting posts than by simply reading them. While the learning curve here is small, there is still a learning curve. That makes it imperative to experiment and contribute. Maybe you post something that's redundant, but that also means that another user has the opportunity to ask you for revision or suggest that you form a follow-up question.

For the user that's new to mooting, I'd suggest starting a question of their own and trying to answer or suggest revisions for at least one question a day.
